Less
widely known than the Open Championship venues of Prestwick,
Royal Troon and Turnberry which lie in close proximity, this
is nonetheless one of the finest tests of traditional links
golf in Scotland.
The
links is a tough challenge with heather, gorse and near inescapable
rough for the wayward golfer. If that’s not enough the
presence of three burns and a ditch cross the course at least
seven times. Beautiful views across the Clyde Estuary to the
peaks of Arran create a wonderful setting and a memorable discovery.

| The
city of Glasgow is within easy reach and
offers a walth of cultural and historic delights. The city
is also a mecca for those interested in the work of the
architect and designer Charles Rennie Macintosh.
Enjoy
a ferry crossing to the lovely island of Bute
and visit Mount Stuart, the magnificent
home and gardens of the Earl of Bute.
Alternatively,
try the ferry crossing to the scenic Isle of Arran,
and Brodick Castle and gardens, home to a National Collection
of rhododendrons. Arran is also home to a number of ancient
sites such as the Mochrie Moor Stone Circles.
