Carton House

Carton House is the newest golf estate in Ireland. They have brought together Colin Montgomerie and Mark O’ Meara to each design a golf course fit for champions, and that they have. The choice is between “ inland links” The Montgomerie and “ parkland “ The O’Meara. Both set in the magnificent 1,100 acre estate that dates back to the 12th century. Testament to the quality of the courses Carton House will be the new venue for The AIB Irish Amateur Open Championship on the 7th – 9th May 2004.

The GUI Golfing Union of Ireland will have its headquarters at Carton House along with developing new offices , a golf museum and National Academy will be developed here. For more information on Carton House please contact us.

 
 


 


Magnificent Mount Juliet

The World Golf Championships is to return to Ireland for 2004. Mount Juliet in Kilkenny will again be host from September 30th – October 3rd 2004. The prize fund will be $7 million with a record first prize of $1.2 million. The WGC American Express at Mount Juliet last year was an outstanding success with golf course conditions second to none.

Irish Open 2004

County Louth Golf Club in Baltray has been confirmed as the host venue for the Nissan Irish Open 2004. This is one of Ireland’s greatest links courses situated just north of Dublin four miles from Drogheda. This is the first time County Louth will be host to The Irish Open, it will again take place the week after The Open from the 22nd – 25th July. Following on from Portmarnock Golf Club, host venue last year Baltray as it is known locally will be the perfect links test. Curtis Cup

Is to be held at Formby Golf Club in Lancashire. Situated not far from the cosmopolitan city of Liverpool, European Capital of Culture 2008 and just south of the magnificent Lake District. Confirmed Captains for the GB&I Team is Ada O’Sullivan and the USA Captain is Martha Wilkinson Kirouac. The event is to be staged on the wonderful Formby course on the 12th & 13th June 2004. Why not see Liverpool city where the Beatles grew up and take in a few rounds on the golf coast of North West England.
