The
Marriot Hanbury Manor and Country Club is an elegant 5 star
country house with its magnificent land redesigned into an 18
hole championship course. The course has very strong American
design influence which is only right since its designer is Jack
Nicklaus II, eldest son of the great man himself. Nicklaus took
the best of the Vardon course, together with the former meadowland
and an old quarry site near the hotel, to produce a very fine
test of parkland golf. The course is a true championship test
and has hosted the European PGA Tours English Open from 1997
to 1999.
