If
traditional links golf is what you are after there are few better
places to find it than on this wonderful old links of bent grass
and dunes. Moulded by the hands of James Braid in 1923.
The
course is some distance from the hustle and bustle of city life,
being 15 miles north from Dornoch. It’s worth the trip
though, for what you get is a mystical experience. The conditioning
of the links is exceptional and this is due in no small part
to the natural greenkeeping methods of using sheep to graze
on this links common land. The greens here are perfect and legendary,
being described “as the glaciers left them”.

An
excellent base to enjoy the magnificent highland
scenery, or the golden sands of the Dornoch
Firth.
Visit
Dunrobin Castle, seat of the Dukes of Sutherland.
The family museum houses a range of historic artefacts and
the bizarre trophy room, with exhibits brought back by the
5th Duke and his wife from his hunting trips aroud the world,
including everything from elephants to iguana and porcupine
